The 3rd International Healthcare and Finance Innovation Forum was held in Shanghai from November 23 to 24.The Forum consisted of four sessions: innovation on drug reimbursement policies, innovation on healthcare service payment, commercial insurance innovation, and disease based financing and payment innovation. More than sixty guest speakers shared their respective insights and innovative practices, including Representative of World Health Organization in China Dr. Gauden Galea, Director of Shanghai Municipal Health Commission Dr. Jinglei Wu, and Dean of School of Management of Fudan University Dr. Xiongwen Lu. The total audience exceeded four hundred and more than thirty journalists attended the event.

On the morning of day 2, Tript Bhatia, Director of Startup Alliance spoke on a panel discussing the role of technology in enabling innovative financing models in healthcare. Panellists include industry leaders Krisha Thacker, Director, Asian Region, MetLife Foundation; Xing Xun, Head of AXA Next Lab Asia; Xiobin Luo, Chief Medical Officer, More Health Information & Technology Group; Minghua Li, CEO, Sunshine Insurance Brokers and Yiyu Wu, President, YLZ Information Technology. Key takeaways included the importance of solving for well-defined and validated affordability problems, the role of cross-industry partnerships and the value of data in driving business model innovation.

Later in the day, Sejal Mistry, Country Director of ACCESS Health South East Asia and Fernando Anaiz Senior Health Systems Strategy Leader at Roche jointly presented a key note speech discussing innovative funding solutions to address affordability issues and expand access to healthcare innovation for cancer treatment.
